PRESS RELEASE FROM GMA-7:
On the seventh anniversary of I Juander, Susan Enriquez and Cesar Apolinario will travel to the “Land of the Red Dragon” in China this Wednesday (July 4).

China is known in our history about various influences, but this time, I Juander will also learn about the story of a Filipino Sultan who went to China and became good friends with their emperor.

From China’s capital Beijing, Susan and Cesar will go to the province of Shandong. This is where Filipino Sultan Paduka Batara died before he went home to the Philippines. Six hundred years after he died, I Juander will search for the Sultan’s grave and his family.

To learn about Emperor Yongle, Sultan Batara’s friend, Susan and Cesar will visit the biggest palace not only in China, but in the whole world. In the earlier times, it was forbidden to enter in the palace, only the Emperor, his family, and their servants were allowed inside. But now, the “Forbidden City” is the most visited attraction in Beijing. In fact, there are about 80, 000 visitors every day.

As one of the places on their bucket list, Susan and Cesar won’t miss the chance to visit the Great Wall of China. There were about 300, 000 soldiers and 500,000 people who constructed the more than 21,000-kilometers wall.

Join Susan Enriquez and Cesar Apolinario as they travel to China to have a deeper understanding of its connection to the Philippines. Catch the first part of the part I Juander’s 7th Anniversary Special, this Wednesday, 8 p.m. on GMA News TV.
