First on MNP: Former ABS-CBN News Channel host Luisito "Cito" Beltran will soon be returning to the airwaves via the much anticipated TV5-Cignal TV news channel One News.

Media Newser Philippines has confirmed through various sources that Beltran, who is best known for his work on the now-defunct Straight Talk, has joined One News as host of its upcoming daily talk program, slated to air against ANC's long-running Headstart.

Beltran, of course, is a logical choice for One News as he is a regular columnist for one of the media properties of TV5 Chairman Manny Pangilinan — The Philippine Star.

Aside from Straight Talk, which he co-hosted from 1999 to 2006, Beltran also co-anchored the now-defunct ABS-CBN late-night newscast Insider, along with his new competitor in the AM slot, Karen Davila.

Additionally, he also hosted the interactive OFW-themed program Kumusta Kabayan for The Filipino Channel and the public affairs program Isyu with Korina Sanchez.

One News is scheduled to debut this summer.
