Nicolette Henson, the news bulletin anchor of CNN Philippines, is leaving the network, Media Newser Philippines has learned.

The former anchor of the now-defunct afternoon newscast, Kapampangan News, will step down by the end of this month from her current post to pursue a master's degree in law.

Henson has been with the local CNN station since its launch in 2015. Aside from anchoring her own newscast, Henson also served as a news correspondent and frequent substitute anchor for programs such as Global Newsroom and Traffic Center.

A former beauty queen, Henson first joined the television news industry in 2014 after she was recruited by the management of the now-defunct Solar News to anchor its Kapampangan-language newscast — remaining in that role even after the network's rebranding to 9TV, and eventually CNN Philippines.

Before that, she had a short stint at GMA-7's Sunday noontime variety show Party Pilipinas.
