Menchu Macapagal is back on CNN Philippines after a nine-month absence in the television news industry.

Macapagal, who is best known for her stint as anchor of the now-defunct Cebuano News, returned to her old stomping ground this week as the new news bulletin anchor, replacing Nicolette Henson who recently left the network.

Working in a freelance capacity, Macapagal, who is a veteran in the radio industry — with stints at stations such as 99.5 RT and K-Lite 103.5 — will continue with her gig at Mellow 94.7's The Wake Up Show, which she began co-hosting in late 2016.

Macapagal previously left the local CNN station in October of last year to prioritize her family. At that time she was pregnant and about to give birth to her second child.
