First on MNP: Change has come once again to the state-owned People's Television Network (PTV4).
Media Newser Philippines has learned that Racquel Tobias, known to PTV4 viewers as Rocky Ignacio, has been appointed as new operations head of the news division.
Effective this month, Ignacio takes over the role vacated by former ABS-CBN reporter Rowena "Wheng" Hidalgo, who was appointed barely five months ago for the said coveted post but was recently transferred to the office of Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar.
While now designated to a new post, Ignacio, through a special arrangement with network bosses, will remain part of PTV4's reportorial team and will continue to cover President Rodrigo Duterte's out of the country trips, including his introductory visit to Thailand next week.
Before joining PTV4, Ignacio was previously an entertainment talk show host for the show Sine Silip on IBC-13.
She made headlines last year after she was personally handpicked by Mr. Duterte as the only Malacañang Press Corps reporter allowed inside the Palace to cover his televised public address on the war against drugs.
