PRESS RELEASE FROM GMA-7:
From restless spirits that haunt the infamous Diplomat Hotel in Baguio, to the shocking exorcism of an inmate in Bilibid in the 1950s, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’s fourth installment of “Gabi ng Lagim” proved to be more terrifying and mind-boggling than the previous ones.

This year, the Philippines’ leading news magazine show marries superb production and storytelling with the help of the country’s most talented film and music directors.

“Ibang-iba ‘yung ngayon kasi I've never shot a horror show na napakaraming appearance ng ghost.” Renowned horror film director Topel Lee said about his experience in shooting Paupahan, a story on elementals and supernatural creatures that haunt a quiet apartment in Quezon City.

“In this episode, parang ang dami nating ginawang iba-ibang klaseng ghost in one place, so it's different. Dapat abangan nila 'to kasi once a year lang ang handog na ito ng KMJS.” Lee said.

Some demons from the past will never be forgotten as KMJS recreates the nightmares of satanic possession through the eyes of award-winning independent film director Derick Cabrido.

Sanib is the first time the Halloween series will feature a period horror story. It retells the much-publicized exorcism of inmate Clarita Villanueva inside a Manila jail in 1953.

Cabrido, who is also a former segment producer of KMJS, shared what sets the segment apart from the independent films he directed: “Dapat abangan ang ‘Sanib’ kasi makatotohanan ang paggawa at hango sa tunay na pangyayari ng isang taong sinasaniban ang mga eksena.”

Meanwhile, music video and television director Rember Gelera did not pass up on the opportunity to be part of this year’s “Gabi ng Lagim” with Diplomat Hotel, a story on the restless spirits that continue to haunt the infamous structure in Baguio.

“May tradisyon tuwing Araw ng Patay o Undas na pagkatapos mong bisitahin yung mga yumao mong kamag-anak, excited ka nang umuwi para manood ng katatakutan sa TV,” Gelera shares. “Unexpectedly, naging part ako ng tradition na ito. So yes, we are to continue that tradition, not just to scare, but to actually educate people na we are not alone.”

True to its ode in bringing quality television every Sunday, each segment’s film-like quality will definitely set the mood as you watch “Gabi ng Lagim IV” with your family and friends.

“Gabi ng Lagim IV” airs on October 30, 2016, Sunday, 8:15 p.m. on GMA Network. For more information, follow “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
