Armie Jarin-Bennett has been named president of Nine Media Corporation, Media Newser Philippines has learned.

Jarin-Bennett, who served as executive vice president and managing editor of CNN Philippines since November 2015, has officially been appointed this October.

Jarin-Bennett joined the media company last year to helm the local CNN station. Under her leadership, CNN Philippines has enjoyed a significant uptick in the ratings, and has garnered critical acclaim — winning the "TV Station of the Year" award at the 47th Rotary Club of Manila Journalism Awards and six awards at the 24th Golden Dove Awards — for its renewed commitment to breaking news and original reporting.

Before returning to Manila, Jarin-Bennett served as executive director of CNN Content Sales and Partnerships in Asia Pacific. Prior to that, she was an executive producer based in Atlanta, overseeing newsroom operations including daily news editorial direction as well as production work across CNN international bureaus.
