Former ABS-CBN host Cher Calvin will be joining Balitang America part-time, beginning next week.

Calvin, who is currently the anchor of KTLA's 6PM and 10PM newscasts, will be hosting the news program's new celebrity-oriented segment, Share that with Cher Calvin.

"We're challenging celebrities along the way," says Calvin on her new weekly segment. "We're gonna get golf lessons from one of the greatest golf pros that happens to be a Filipino, and at the same time try and challenge people — put them in the situations that you wouldn't expect to see them in."

Calvin gained prominence in the late '90s as anchor of the now-defunct Studio 23 newscast News Central, and ABS-CBN's lifestyle show F, which she co-hosted alongside Daphne Oseña-Paez and Angel Aquino. Before that, Calvin was a features reporter and news anchor for GMA-7, and was among the original hosts of Mornings@GMA.

She left the country in 2003 to join the Fox affiliate KVVU-TV in Las Vegas, where she co-hosted its morning show Fox 5 News This Morning, before joining KTLA in 2005 to headline some of its programs, including KTLA5 Morning News and Access LA.
