Korina Sanchez takes a leave from DZMM program

By Media Newser Philippines | Monday, January 06, 2014

Korina Sanchez made a surprising exit on her DZMM program Rated Korina last week, prompting her critics to conclude that she was either suspended or asked to resign.

In a statement, Sanchez made it clear that she decided to temporarily vacate her radio program to devote some time on finishing her master's degree at the Ateneo de Manila University.

"Muntik na akong ibagsak ng dalawa kong propesor dahil sa absence at late submissions kaya talagang hindi ko mapagsabay. Ang trabaho naman nariyan lang at ang sabi naman sa akin ng mga boss kapag ayos na lahat ay makakabalik naman ako. Gusto ko na talaga itong iraos," she said.

ABS-CBN's official statement after the jump...

ABS-CBN'S OFFICIAL STATEMENT:
Korina Sanchez is currently on leave from her morning program on DZMM to concentrate on her postgraduate studies at the Ateneo de Manila University.  This was planned as early as middle of 2013 when Korina informed ABS-CBN management about her intentions to focus on her studies.  Korina will continue to be seen on television as anchor of "TV Patrol" and "Rated K."
